Cannabreeze Virginia Hemp

Cannabreeze Hemp Farm & Company is a veteran-owned, 100% vertically integrated hemp farm located in Loudoun County, Virginia, founded in 2020 by Jeff Boogarrd, a U.S. Navy veteran after he experienced the positive effects full-spectrum CBD oil had on his daughter when she was battling cancer in 2019.

Jeff has seen the power of CBD for Veterans living with physical and mental health challenges such as depression and TBI, as seen in the testimonials below. The Purple Heart Foundation is honored that Jeff has chosen to partner with us to help promote awareness and solutions for Veterans living with a variety of physical and mental health challenges resulting from their service to our country. Learn more here.

Veteran Testimonials

“I have been managing severe osteoporosis for decades and this product provides incredible pain relief. After taking the 1800mg oil twice daily, I noticed a significant decrease in my joint pain in 12 days. Because of this product,I experience better pain relief than supplements (turmeric, cherry juice extract, fish oil), and a dairy free or vegan diet. I visited the farm and owner Jeff provided a comprehensive education focused on product and production processes. He made perfect product recommendations for my needs. Trusted, experienced, professional, local and organic!”

– Joan B. – Commander, U.S. Navy

As a combat veteran, returning to civilian life was very difficult for me. I tried the prescription route offered by the VA and stopped after my roller coaster ride battling nightmares and depression was too much to control, and it was taking a toll on my personal and work lives. When I began feeling disconnected from my wife and children, I realized I needed an alternative treatment to my invisible pain. Thanks to my family, they introduced me to CBD. At first, I didn’t think it was helping me until I came across Cannabreeze and their whole flower products. Within days, I was feeling like my old self again. Thank you, Cannabreeze!”

– Curtis M. – USMC

“As a proud Navy veteran, physical activity has always been a cornerstone of my life. Even after leaving the service, I continued to challenge my body…Over four years of regular CBD use, I have experienced outstanding relief from joint pain and inflammation. Whether it’s from the strain of my duties in the Navy or the demands of motorcycle racing, CBD has consistently delivered results that exceed my expectations. Finding Cannabreeze and CBD not only has helped me manage physical discomfort, but it also has had a profound impact on my overall well-being. I feel rejuvenated, agile, and remarkably capable.”

– Patrick A., U.S. Navy, USS Carl Vinson

Informative Articles About CBD

By Jeff Boogaard, U.S. Navy Veteran & Cannabreeze Founder
Treatments of physical injuries for combat veterans sustained during their service period are varied, and advanced treatments and technologies to support an active lifestyle have become more and more available. The emotional wounds veterans sustain are sometimes overlooked, and veterans may be unwilling to engage with healthcare providers due to embarrassment, bravado, or the unwillingness to rely on pharmaceutical medications. And combat veterans that choose the path of prescription drugs have a nearly impossible battle with addiction. Overcoming the anxiety and stress from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is real and can lead to long bouts of anguish, depression, and even suicide. With an estimated 41% of veterans in need of mental health treatment, healthcare providers should consider the benefits of CBD to combat the emotional wounds veterans experienced during their service period.

There is emerging evidence that cannabidiol, or CBD, may help reduce and manage symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and is currently being tested as a potential treatment for a growing number of mental health conditions. Studies have shown that CBD can help control emotions like anxiety and fear, as well as lessen behaviors that indicate anxiety and fear, which can be translated to PTSD symptoms. An article in the National Library of Medicine concluded that CBD has a wide range of pharmacological effects, including anti-inflammation, neuroprotection, immunomodulation, and anti-anxiety effects and has therapeutic potential in many diseases such as epilepsy, neurodegeneration, and schizophrenia.

CBD acts on the CB1 and CB2 receptors of the endocannabinoid system (ECS) to stimulate the ECS to promote sleep quality, prevent the generation of traumatic memories, and establish physical and emotional senses of wellbeing. CBD can reduce the destructive symptoms of PTSD and alleviate the emotions of fear and depression. CBD can work faster and with fewer side effects for PTSD treatment than SSRIs(antidepressants), which begin to work after several weeks of treatment and have negative side effects such as insomnia, restlessness, and sexual dysfunction. The conclusion of this study is CBD provides a new choice for the clinical treatment of PTSD.
According to a report by the World Health Organization, CBD is generally safe and non-addictive, and has a low potential to be misused. Public support of CBD for the treatment of PTSD could make an impact in the mental health of our combat veterans, and at the very least offer a positive, safe alternative in the treatment of PTSD. If you’re currently being treated by a physician for PTSD or other health conditions, it’s very important to talk to your doctor before you try a CBD product.

In recent years, the hype surrounding CBD (cannabidiol) and its array of products has been nothing short of a cultural phenomenon. From wellness enthusiasts to mainstream consumers, CBD seemed to be the answer to a myriad of health and lifestyle concerns. However, as the initial fervor begins to wane, it’s time to take a closer look at the factors contributing to the popularity of CBD and CBD products found in CBD stores across the world.

CBD became federally legal in 2018 after the signing of the Farm Bill which effectively made the cultivation, production and sale of industrial hemp federally legal and regulated. In this bill, the government defined hemp as “cannabis with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (delta-9 THC) concentration level not to exceed 0.3% dry weight” to ensure there was no psychoactive effects, which removed hemp from the Controlled Substances Act (CSA).

When CBD first burst onto the scene, it brought with it promises of stress relief, better sleep, and overall well-being. As a non-psychoactive component of cannabis, CBD was embraced for its potential therapeutic benefits without the associated high. In fact, a year earlier the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved a drug for children as young as 1 year of age with severe epilepsy (Epidiolex). One significant hurdle facing the CBD industry is the lack of consistent, standardized regulations, making it challenging for businesses to navigate the market and leading to a lack of consumer trust in the quality and safety of CBD products. This led to the oversaturation of the market leading to a dilution of quality and efficacy, and consumers confused and skeptical. As with any product, quality and efficacy must be researched to ensure you are getting the quality necessary for effectiveness.

Despite this, there is a growing body of positive research on CBD, with the scientific community actively studying CBD’s mechanisms and its impact on various health conditions. The results so far have been very encouraging in a plethora of areas, from stress, anxiety and PTSD, to inflammation, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and a number of chronic neuropathies. With the efficacy of CBD directly related to its quality, veterans should feel optimistic when considering adding quality CBD products to their health and wellness regimen. It is clear CBD continues to hold promise as a positive therapeutic compound.
