SCHOLARSHIPS
Education shouldn’t be a barrier, but a launchpad for veterans and their families. Whether your exploring a traditional degree or vocational training as a transitioning veteran or returning to school later in life, there’s funding available to make it happen.
The Purple Heart Foundation Scholarship
The Purple Heart Foundation Scholarships are available to Purple Heart recipients and their direct descendants (including spouses, children, and grandchildren).
These scholarships can be used to cover the cost of additional fees associated with higher education, such as tuition, room & board, books, incidental fees, and other direct costs. Each scholarship awarded is paid directly to the education institution being attended.
The application process for the 2026-27 academic school year will open on February 2, 2026.

At the Purple Heart Foundation, we believe that supporting our nation’s heroes doesn’t stop at saying “thank you for your service!” That’s why we work to provide real opportunities for veterans to thrive in civilian life by connecting them to trusted organizations with training and certification programs, internships, and apprenticeships that offer career development, skill-building, and job placement services suited perfectly for veterans. Many of our partnerships are veteran-owned or led!

The Purple Heart Foundation is proud to partner with Carolina Trade Academy to help veterans take the next step toward a skilled trade career. 
Through this partnership, eligible veterans will be invited to apply for a free scholarship to Carolina Trade Academy’s Online HVAC Technician Program.
Carolina Trade Academy provides flexible, practical training for students who want to enter the skilled trades. Its HVAC Technician Program is built around online learning, virtual reality training, simulations, quizzes, exams, and guided exercises that help students build real-world knowledge at their own pace.
FASTPORT offers veterans seeking new career opportunities a vast employer network to help them seek the right next step wherever they are in their career journey.
This has been and will always be a free service. For those ready to join the traditional workforce and need a way to get connected with employers, their Semper Forward Division is for you. For those looking to upskill or reskill, they recommend applying for a Registered Apprenticeship program.

Owners in Honor – Empowering Veterans Through Business Ownership
Owners In Honor, a Purple Heart recipient, veteran-owned and led nonprofit organization,
is a revolutionary program that creates pathways for veterans and their families to
purchase existing small businesses and successfully operate them until a planned exit.
By partnering with Owners In Honor, the Purple Heart Foundation is opening doors for veterans to:

Our partners at Vets to Drones offer a revolutionary program that prepares veterans to enter the commercial drone industry by providing free resources and training to current industry standards. Graduates are Part 107 Certified and tested to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
