Fundraising & Development Coordinator

The Development & Fundraising Coordinator plays a key role in assisting the Development Director in developing, managing, and executing fundraising strategies to generate revenue for the Purple Heart Foundation’s programs. This position involves cultivating donor relationships, securing corporate sponsorships, assisting in managing fundraising campaigns, and organizing special events. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, results-driven professional with a passion for veterans’ causes and a strong background in fundraising. NOTE: This is a full-time in-office position at our corporate offices in Annandale, VA.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy & Execution

• Working knowledge of managing annual fundraising plans to achieve revenue goals.
• Assist Development Director in connecting with major donors and recurring supporters.
• Assist in management and data tracking of online giving campaigns, donor appeals, and peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives.

Donor & Sponsor Engagement

• Research and identify new donor and sponsorship opportunities.
• Assist in building and maintaining strong relationships with donors, corporate partners, and philanthropic organizations.
• Ensure timely and personalized donor acknowledgments and impact reports.
• Bloomerang CRM software experience required.

Event Planning & Campaigns

• Organize and execute fundraising events (nights and weekends may be required).
• Working with marketing agency to promote campaigns via email and social media.
• Track and evaluate event performance, donor retention, and campaign success.

Data & Reporting

• Maintain accurate donor records using CRM/fundraising software (Bloomerang).
• Analyze fundraising data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
• Provide daily, weekly and monthly reports on fundraising performance, donor engagement, and revenue projections.
